Joy of Giving Project – Aahar Initiative, 2024
On August 26, 2024, the Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF) organised a heartwarming event under the Joy of Giving Project, specifically the Aahar initiative, at Shree Manav Seva Sangh Children’s Home in Sion West, Mumbai. This special occasion aimed to bring joy and support to the 125 children residing at the orphanage by providing them with a nutritious meal and essential educational supplies.The event began at 11:30 AM with the arrival of the DAF team, who were warmly welcomed by the children and staff of the orphanage. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as the children gathered for the activities planned for the day.At 11:45 AM, the distribution of small stationery kits and packets of cupcakes commenced. Each child received a kit containing a pencil, scale, eraser, and sharpener—basic yet essential tools to support their educational journey. The inclusion of a packet of cupcakes added a sweet touch to the celebration, bringing smiles to the faces of the children.The highlight of the event was the sponsored lunch meal, which was served at 12:15 PM.
The meal consisted of Dal (lentils), Chawal (rice), Sabji (vegetable curry), and Chapati (flatbread), carefully selected to provide a balanced and nutritious diet. The children enjoyed the meal, which was not only delicious but also a comforting and satisfying experience for them.As the event drew to a close, the DAF team delivered heartfelt closing remarks, expressing their joy in being able to contribute to the well-being and happiness of the children. The children, in turn, expressed their gratitude, making the event a truly rewarding experience for everyone involved.The Joy of Giving Project’s Aahar initiative successfully fulfilled its objective of bringing smiles to the faces of the children while supporting their educational needs.
