Report on Beach Clean-up Initiative by Debabrata Auro Foundation and Project Mumbai
On 19th July 2025, the Debabrata Auro Foundation, in partnership with Project Mumbai, conducted a Beach Clean-up Initiative at Dadar Beach from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM. This impactful event brought together volunteers and local residents to clean approximately 500 meters of coastline, addressing the growing issue of marine and beach pollution. Participants actively engaged in collecting and segregating waste into categories such as plastics, bottles, and general litter, ensuring efficient disposal and recycling. The initiative aimed to create a tangible difference in the cleanliness of the beach while reinforcing the importance of conserving our coastal environment.
In addition to the clean-up, awareness campaigns were conducted to educate participants and passersby on the environmental impacts of littering and the urgent need for responsible waste disposal. The initiative not only resulted in a significantly cleaner beachfront but also promoted a culture of environmental stewardship within the community. Through collaborative action and educational outreach, the event successfully emphasized that sustained community participation is key to preserving marine ecosystems and promoting long-term ecological balance.
