On July 6th, 2024, the Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF) conducted a Menstrual Health and Hygiene Awareness Session at the Mahatma Phule SRA Building in Nariman Point. Attended by 77 women and girls from the slum community, the session aimed to educate and empower participants on crucial aspects of menstrual health and hygiene. Led by DAF, the agenda covered a comprehensive range of topics including understanding menstruation cycles, methods to calculate cycles, identifying key indicators for consulting a gynaecologist, dispelling myths, and emphasising the importance of hygiene practices and nutrition during menstruation.

Following the educational session, sanitary napkins were distributed to all attendees, ensuring they not only gained knowledge but also received essential resources to manage their menstrual health effectively. The event aimed to empower participants by addressing misconceptions, providing education, and ensuring access to sanitary products, contributing towards a healthier and more dignified menstruation experience. The session concluded with positive feedback from attendees, who expressed gratitude for the valuable information and supplies received. DAF remains committed to continuing such initiatives to support women and girls in underserved communities.
