Cyber Crime Awareness Session & Notebooks Distribution at Andheri Slum Community, July 14th, 2024

On July 14th, 2024, the Debabrata Auro Foundation (DAF) organised a Cyber Crime Awareness Session at the Andheri Slum Community, attended by 50 participants. The session provided an overview of cybercrime, covering common types such as phishing, identity theft, and online fraud, with real-life scenarios and hands-on activities to reinforce learning. Following these talks, Q&A sessions allowed attendees to ask specific questions and receive personalised advice. The session effectively heightened awareness of various forms of cybercrime and the tactics used by cybercriminals. Participants learned how to create strong passwords, recognize phishing attempts, and secure their devices and online accounts. By educating residents about cybercrime, the session empowered the community to take proactive steps toward their digital safety.

The active participation of all 50 attendees indicated a strong interest and concern about cybersecurity issues within the community. Positive feedback highlighted the clarity and relevance of the information presented, with many expressing a desire for more such sessions in the future. Additionally, notebooks were distributed to the kids, supporting their educational needs. The Cyber Crime Awareness Session was a resounding success, raising awareness and equipping attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves online. The positive response and active engagement from the community underscore the importance of such initiatives. Moving forward, DAF aims to continue promoting cybersecurity awareness to ensure every individual is prepared to navigate the digital world safely
