The Debabrata-Auro Foundation, in its continued efforts to promote awareness and education, organized a Menstrual Health and Hygiene Awareness Session at Akanksha Foundation Lokhandwala SMCMPS School, Lower Parel. This initiative aimed to break the stigma surrounding menstruation, provide essential information, and distribute sanitary napkins to empower young girls.

Awareness Session: DAF’s dedicated team of executives conducted informative sessions for both girls and boys. The sessions addressed various aspects of menstrual health, aiming to dispel myths and provide factual information.

Educational Focus: The sessions covered the significance of menstruation, proper hygiene practices to maintain during menstrual periods, and the importance of self-care.

Engaging Boys: Inclusivity was a key focus, and boys were included in the discussion. The sessions emphasized the importance of boys’ support for their female peers, mothers, and sisters during their menstrual periods.

Sanitary Napkin Distribution: Following the awareness sessions, DAF distributed 150 sanitary napkins to the girls who attended the event. This action aimed to provide practical support to the girls and ensure they had access to hygienic menstrual products.

Impact:

Increased Awareness: The participants, both girls and boys, left the session with a better understanding of menstruation, debunking myths, and promoting open discussions.
Empowerment: 150 girls were provided with sanitary napkins, ensuring their access to hygienic menstrual products. Also, proper Hygiene method was taught to them.
Promoting Support: Boys learned how to support their female family members and peers during menstruation, fostering a more understanding and empathetic community.
This initiative was a significant step towards normalizing conversations about menstrual health and hygiene while providing practical support to young girls. It aligned with DAF’s commitment to community welfare and education.
