The main objective of this initiative was to engage in a collective endeavor to preserve our environment and emphasize the significance of maintaining clean beaches.
Participants: As part of the collaboration, DAF was responsible for assembling a team of volunteers, and they successfully brought together 30 enthusiastic individuals from SNDT College’s NSS Unity Leo Club. These volunteers, alongside the dedicated members of Tajsats, formed a cohesive group ready to tackle the beach cleanup.
The Beach Cleanup: The event kicked off with an air of excitement and anticipation as all participants gathered at Juhu Beach. Equipped with gloves, trash bags, and a shared commitment to environmental conservation, we embarked on our mission to rid the beach of litter and pollution.
Activities: Our group was divided into smaller teams, each assigned a specific section of the beach to clean. We scoured the shoreline for various types of waste, including plastic bottles, wrappers, cigarette butts, Ganesha idols, flowers, and more. It was disheartening to witness the extent of pollution on our beloved beach, but it only fueled our determination to make a difference.
Teamwork and Dedication: Throughout the day, the volunteers exhibited remarkable teamwork and dedication. They worked tirelessly, bending down to pick up even the smallest pieces of trash. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and their commitment was unwavering, which made the cleanup a truly heartwarming experience.
Conclusion: The beach cleanup drive on September 30th was a resounding success thanks to the combined efforts of DAF, Tajsats, and the passionate volunteers from SNDT College’s NSS Unity Leo Club Also TCS for organizing the drive.
