Menstrual Health & Hygiene Awareness Session and Napkin Distribution at Kanjurmarg MPS School – January 08, 2024

Objective:

 

  • The primary objective of the program was to raise awareness about menstrual health and hygiene among the girls of Kanjurmarg MPS School.
  •  This included educational sessions, interactive workshops, demonstrations, and the distribution of sanitary napkins.

 

Educational Sessions:

 

  • An informative session was conducted, emphasizing the importance of maintaining menstrual health and hygiene practices. 
  • The session aimed to break taboos and provide essential knowledge for the well-being of the girls. 

 

Napkins Distribution:

  • Thanks to the generous support of ‘The Save Tears Foundation, for sponsoring 200 sanitary napkins. 
  • Post the educational session, 100 napkins were distributed to 100 girls at the school, ensuring that they had access to essential menstrual hygiene products.

 

Impact:-  

  • The Menstrual Health & Hygiene program at Kanjurmarg MPS School was a resounding success. Beyond the distribution of sanitary napkins, the initiative empowered the community through education on better health practices.
  • The program not only addressed the immediate need for menstrual hygiene products but also contributed to breaking societal stigmas surrounding menstruation.

All-in-One Book Distribution at M.V.R MPS school, Ishwar Nagar, Bhandup (west)

Objective:

  • The All-in-One Book Distribution Program was organized on 16th January 2024 at M.V.R MPS School, Ishwar Nagar Bhandup West. 
  • The aim was to promote early childhood literacy by distributing 61 nursery rhyme books to children studying in kindergarten at M.V.R MPS.

 

Activities: 

  • 61 nursery rhyme books were distributed to school children. A combination of children’s reading and early childhood education is taught through interactive sessions with children, encouraging them to explore. Books and the joy of learning were promoted. 
  • Emphasis is placed on involving teachers in the delivery process.
  • It was said in the session that the early development of the child and the importance of reading is very important.

 

Impact:

  • The distribution of nursery rhyme books directly contributed to the promotion of literacy. 
  • The program helped foster early childhood education, cognitive development, and language skills by distributing books to schoolchildren, laying the foundation for their educational journey. 
  • Involving teachers in the process strengthened the community.
  • Understand the importance of early childhood literacy and student engagement.

DAF NGO & NM College Rotaract Club Oral Hygiene Care & Basic Dental Check-up at Aarey Colony Adivasi Pada 14/01/2024 

Event Overview:

The Oral Hygiene Care & Basic Dental Check-up event organized by DAF NGO and Rotaract Club NM College took place on 14th January 2024, at Aarey Colony. The primary objective of the event was to raise awareness about dental hygiene and provide basic dental check-ups to the community. 

 

Activities:

  • Oral Hygiene Awareness Session a brief but informative oral hygiene awareness session was conducted to educate participants on the importance of maintaining good dental health. Tips on proper brushing techniques, flossing, and dietary habits were shared.
  • Basic Dental Check-up each participant underwent a basic dental check-up, which included examinations for cavities, gum health, and oral hygiene practices. Personalized advice and recommendations were given to participants based on their check-up results.
  • Distribution of Oral Hygiene Kits as part of the initiative, oral hygiene kits containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, and informational pamphlets were distributed to all participants. This aimed to empower individuals to continue practicing good oral hygiene at home.

 

Community Engagement:

  • The event successfully engaged the local community, attracting 48 participants. The diverse group included residents of Aarey Colony, ranging from children to senior citizens. The interactive nature of the event encouraged open discussions about dental health, creating a positive and educational atmosphere. 
  • Number of Participants: 48 individuals actively participated in the event.
  • Check-up Completion Rate: 100% of participants received a basic dental check-up.
  • Oral Hygiene Kits Distributed: 48 kits were distributed among the participants.

  • The Oral Hygiene Care & Basic Dental Check-up event proved to be a success in achieving its objectives. The collaboration between DAF NGO and Rotaract Club NM College facilitated the seamless execution of the program. DAF NGO & TEC Fungal Check-up Camp at Bandra West Slum, 11/01/2024

Introduction:

  • DAF NGO, in collaboration with The Esthetic Clinics, organized a Fungal Infection Check-Up Camp at Vakola Police Station on the 21st of December 2023. 
  • The event aimed to provide comprehensive skin check-ups for slum community people, focusing on early detection, treatment, and prevention of fungal infections.

 

Summary:- 

  • On January 11, 2024, a Fungal Check-Up Camp was organized at the Bandra Slum from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 
  • The primary objective of the camp was to address and provide medical assistance for fungal infections prevalent in the community. 

 

Activities:- 

 

Medical Check-Up:

  • Trained dermatologist professionals conducted thorough check-ups for fungal infections, ensuring that each attendee received personalized attention and care.

 

Medicine Distribution:

  • Medicines were distributed to the attendees after the diagnosis based on the severity and type of fungal infection detected during the check-up.

  • A total of 80 individuals participated in the Fungal Check-Up Camp, benefiting from the medical check-ups and receiving the necessary medications.

Menstrual health & Hygiene Awareness session Napkins distribution at Shindewadi, Dadar Akansha Foundation school 09th January 24.

Objective:

  • A Menstrual and Health Hygiene Program was organized on January 09, 2024, with the help of DAF NGO in collaboration with Save Tears Foundation. The menstrual health needs of school girls in Akanksha Foundation School Shindewadi.
  • The participation of boys with school girls was attractive. The initiative sought to provide them with education, resources, and support to adopt and empower them to adopt healthy menstrual hygiene practices.

 

Activities:

  • Educational sessions: An informative session on the menstrual cycle and health hygiene practices explaining the importance of proper hygiene during menstruation was conducted and the child’s participation in the program was unforgettable.
  • Napkins Distribution: We are very thankful to ‘Save Tears Foundation for providing 200 sanitary napkins. After this, after the combined session of boys and girls, 100 napkins were distributed to 100 girls in the school.
  • Interactive Workshops: Any queries related to menstrual health were freely discussed with boys and girls and interactive workshops were facilitated by Akanksha Foundation School to promote this topic.
  • Demonstrations: The girls were informed about the proper use of sanitary napkins and how to dispose of them after use and the response from the boys was good.

 

Conclusion:

  • Thanks to the generous sponsorship of ‘The Save Tear Foundation’, Debabrata Auro Foundation in Akanksha Foundation successfully organized a Menstrual and Health Hygiene Program among school girls and boys.

Green Aarey: Sowing the Seeds of Sustainability” DAF NGO Tree Plantation Drive 05/01/2024

  • The volunteers actively participated in the tree plantation, displaying a strong commitment to fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility for the sustainability of the newly planted trees.

  • 10 volunteers from the Rotaract Club of Jai Hind College

  • On 22/12/2023, Debabrata Auro Foundation & TajSATS collaborated on a Children Empowerment Project at Nehru nagar MPS school. The initiative aimed to contribute to early childhood education by providing educational resources to the children. A total of 86 Stationary kits were distributed during the event, along with Snacks to bring joy to the nursary children recipients. 

 

Objective:

  • The primary objective of the Educational empowerment was to enhance the educational environment at Nehru Nagar MPS school Kanjurmarg East by supplying nursery stationary kits.
  • The intention was to instil a love for learning in children and contribute positively to their early education.

Fungal Infection Check-Up Camp at Vakola Police Station

  • DAF NGO, in collaboration with The Esthetic Clinics, organized a Fungal Infection Check-Up Camp at Vakola Police Station on the 21st of December 2023. 
  • The event aimed to provide comprehensive skin check-ups for 50 police officers, with a focus on early detection, treatment, and prevention of fungal infections.

 

Fungal Infection Check-Up Camp:

  • Dermatologist specialists from “The Esthetic Clinics” conducted thorough fungal infection check-ups for the police officers. 
  • The dermatologists provided personalized consultations, diagnosed infections, and prescribed necessary medications for effective treatment. Guidance on health enhancement and maintaining better hygiene practices was also offered.

 

Free Medicines Distribution:

  • Following the check-up, free medicines were distributed to the identified 25 police officers who were found to be infected. 
  • Creams and tablets prescribed by the dermatologists were provided at no expense, ensuring that the patients received the necessary treatment to combat the fungal infection. Special Voucher Details for Police Officers. 

 

The event also included the distribution of special vouchers for police officers: 

  • Voucher Value: 2000/- rupees consultation fee (Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Department)

  • The event successfully attracted the participation of 27 police inspector officers, out of which 25 were found to be infected with fungal infections. 
  • The goal of educating them about proper hygiene to prevent the spread of the disease was effectively addressed.
  • The Fungal Infection Check-Up Camp, organized by The Esthetic Clinics and DAF NGO, stands as a commendable initiative to show appreciation and support for the dedicated service of police officers. 
  • The provision of free skin fungal infection check-ups and offering vouchers for consultations and esthetic procedures demonstrates a gesture of gratitude and acknowledgment for the hard work and commitment of our police force.
